Apple iPhone

Thats right people.
I finally got one.

For the longest time I thought that it was stupid and a waste of money to have one. Then when I got my Mac Book Pro I received an iTouch for free along with an awesome printer that I was actually looking at purchasing a few months before I bought my Mac. Well I always thought why would anyone pay this much for an iTouch. I loved that thing. I still don't think its worth the money for one but it sure is fun and handy. I used it all the time and thought, 'well if this could make calls it would be perfect'. Well Tmobile, my old provider, sent me a message saying that my current credit card I had on there for instant bill pay was going to expire. So today I went to the store to go and put a new credit card on file with them and then I asked how much longer my contract was, they said that it was over and that I could either stay on month by month or I could renew or cancel at this point. I decided not to renew and just to stay on month by month.

Well I then walked over to the other side of the parking lot and went to AT&T, who as we all know currently hold exclusive rights to the iPhone in the USA (overseas its tmobile as well as a few other small carries, go figure). So I talked to them and decided that I was tired of not having phone service whenever I was on campus or offshore. AT&T constantly has service. Then I thought about the fact that Tmobile has the fav five which I always use but then learned that AT&T has free mobile to mobile on their service and several people I call are already with them so that sold me. Plus I then found out that as an LSU student I get 15 percent off and if I can convince my dad to change my internet up at LSU to them, I then get an additional 5 percent off and 200 bucks back. Then every extra thing I put on them I get another 5 percent off which is awesome. SO currently I know have unlimited everything and 900 minutes for the same price that I did with Tmobile where I only had unlimited everything and 300 minutes. AT&T also has roll over.

well thats enough about how and why I changed and the reasons you should too. But on to the phone. Well the iTouch is amazing, if you have it you know BUT the iPhone is even more amazing cause it does all that the iTouch does and more of course. One you can make phone calls and two you can access more apps that only work on the phone and three you can get on the internet without having to be hooked onto a wireless router. This phone is amazing. Plus I can sync it up to my Mac easily (you can also hook these things up to a PC if you didnt know, I didnt know that but you can so its basically awesome no matter what you have but you might as well get a MacBook if you havent already cause there The Boss)

so go get the phone and love life even more as I do. I ended up getting the black 16G iPhone along with a case, car charger, and screen protectors for 386 in the end. A small price to pay to be as happy as I am now.

Ali Dee & The Deekompressors

So today I finally watched Speed Racer. I had heard all this horrible stuff about, on review going as far as to say that you could stick your head in your dryer while setting off fire works and it would be the same visual quality as this movie. I personally liked it alot. Of course it had John Goodman who is awesome and then Christina Ricci who in my eyes is amazingly gorgeous. But they had a song that played during the credits which I thought was pretty amazing and heres the music video for it.

oh and go to the actual YouTube page and watch it in HQ

and well its pretty boss, thats right I just used the word boss because thats all that can explain this movie and song. So yeah I should get back to my paper that I've been trying to write all week. Of course this paper has given me the excuse to take a break and watch this movie.

On a final note: Go watch this movie and download this song off iTunes as well as this video so as to throw them some money cause they deserve it for this.

Citizen : Clothing is Culture

so today I was informed of this site and I checked it out and I really like it. ''It can fulfill all your streetwear needs'' was what I was told. So far it seems pretty bad ass. The store design is kinda simple but they are in the process of redesigning it right now. One thing that caught my eye was that they had a section for Cardigans which I thought was rare and awesome. I saw this and decided that they do have some decent classic style too.

Tomorrow I will post about a couple different brands that I like that you should also keep a lookout for that aren't really that big yet (in the sense of being sold out and on the shelves everywhere and seen all over yet)

ALL ROUGE STATUS

(because theres so many pictures ima just make links to each one so just click the link in the paragraph and you can see them)

OK so I got up really early today because my dog decided that it was time for me to get up and wouldn't shut up. So I took her out and went and looked on MySpace to see what was what and saw that the local store Politics (basically the only boutique we have around that sells anything good, they've got FMS, RS, GG, they've got it all and if they dont they will order it) but I saw they got a new RS shirt in and I figure well RS has a decent blog called THE SMOGCHECK. So I went and checked it out. They also have on their RS site two pages called showcase and line, both of these just feature pictures of what they have coming out and what they have going on around the store.

Little back story about RS. They are known mostly for sponsoring Rob Dyrdek from Rob and Big. They are the ones with the gunshow wall paper and shirts and what not that he wears and has on the walls in his house. They area also known for the AWOL shirts and the DTA shirts. They are very political satire based and put images that aren't so PC on their shirts that really send a message. Also they just have some bad ass prints and designs and do some amazing collabs with other people. So below Ima list the ones to me that really stand out that you should check out.

First is their line of skateboards. Personally I collect random skateboards that I really like and have them hanging out on my wall. I have this deck and these trucks with matching wheels that i cant find a picture of. But they also have other decks they've made for Rob and here they are. first one is a rendition of the one I have and then they did another one.

They also got together with Bianchi and did an amazing fixed gear bike and went with details as far down as the seat,

they also came out with an amazing line of leather bags with this duffle and this backpack being my favorite pieces.

they've even gone as far as to collab with Shin Tanaka and his line of spiky baby paper toys and came up with this one which was only released on the RS site for a few days. Luckily I found a guy who had it and he emailed the template to me.

Now as for their shirts. The Aloha shirt, the Loudness shirt, the Caknuckle (it comes in gold foil too), the HOHOHO (great hit on Die Hard), the Unknown Soldier, the Heres The Union, and the most powerful shirt i think they have The Mile of Death  are some of my favorites.

so go check out their stuff. Soon enough Ill do one like this on Famous and another on Modern Amusement who puts out some amazing business clothes which look more like something you would wear to the club.

We Are Ellis Island

ok so let me start off by saying how I found this. I have alot of magazine, stuff from subscriptions and then stuff I just see on the shelves. Well a few months I ago I decided to put a magazine rack in my bathroom so that I could read them while im doing what I gotta do. So I've got everything from Antenna (great style magazine that lets you know whats dropping and when) to Esquire to Maxim. Well I was reading through old maxims and this is out of one that came out last year actually and I found the ad you see above and I went and looked at the site and loved what I found.

TO start with the shirt is pretty cool, second all the money goes towards saving Ellis Island which is easily one of our nations greatest features and it is what made America the Cultural Stew Pot of what it is today. So go check out the site by clicking on the title of the post and get ya self a shirt. as long as ya donate 25 ya get a shirt, if you can afford to donate more.

NO ONE ON THE CORNER GOT SWAGGER LIKE US

So sadly this is only available at The Fast Life as of now. Hopefully eventually they will put it on the site. Of course as we all know Famous is, excuse the pun, famous for doing limited releases that are only in the store. Which I like because it keeps it close but at the same time its hard to get things. But they do usually release some nice limited stuff online. For example the three watches that they put out. This one and this one I own. The third looks like the second but instead of diamonds its just metal dots (boring). They've released several other things that are limited online that I got but I'll save all that for another day.

LETS GET DEAD

so theres this band called New Years Day that I found a while back and one of the members decided to start making clothes and they have one shirt and I like it and here it is.

basically you can go to their site (click the LETS GET DEAD title) and read more about them. I dont feel like typing stuff you can read somewhere already. (this will be a common thing where I will just post a photo and link you to something in someone elses blog or page because its already been said and thats where I found it but I like it and want to share it)

FAMOUS X LASONIC are at it again

OK so last year they came out with this same product. Lasonic had their own version that you could purchase on their website. And they made a collab with Famous who I love. Last year it was done in black and one in white. This year they came out with it in Gold and White. They havent been released yet. If you live out in LA, which I wish I did but dont, you can get them on the 28th. Everyone else will have access to them on December 1st.

I have the one in black when they first came out with them. Personally Im thinking of selling mine now and purchasing the GOLD one cause that shit is tight. Not only would I have what I already had but now I could rock out in the saints colors.

These things are awesome. They do leave a little to be desired in sound quality but they do get loud and they do get looks wherever ya go with them. They can get radio and Ipod and usb stick and has an aux input to, and then also work on wall power or with batteries.

Everyone should get this thing because they are the shit. And if your one of those people that hate on FMS then you can always just get the standard one Lasonic makes. Who hasnt always dreamt of carrying around a blaster on their shoulder while walking through campus, now you can do it with your ipod tagging along too.

Music has been confined to those ear buds for way too long and it now needs to be shared with the world.

Du of DuMe explains it all

So basically me and my best friend who is the 'Me' of DuMe (which is the brains behind DuMe clothing, enterprises and film and the brains behind the band 'We End with The') decided that we wanted to do a blog. We constantly post shit on our MySpaces and Facebook accounts and thought well wtf not. One of my friends has a blog on here and it gave me the idea also. SO basically this is a collaborative effort between the two of us. We might not constantly bring you new style and what not but were gonna bring you what we want and what we like. I promise that there will be at least one post a week by both of us if not more.

Little info about us. We both grew up in the ninth ward in New Orleans. We call NOLA home and no matter where we end up living we will always call NOLA home. Some of our favorite cites are NOLA of course, then Austin and LA are the shit also. You'll see this in our music and style that we post on here and other random things.

Apart from the same music and style the only major difference between the two of us is that "Me" has graduated undergrad in psychology and plans to go to grad school for it and Im still at LSU for communication studies with my concentration being in performance studies and speech and Im finishing up my Film and Media Arts minor also and I want to go to UNO or anywhere at that to do my masters in Film.

Other than that there's not much to it. SO let the good times roll and DuMe, do you, do it all.

OH let me explain the title while Im typing this. DuMe (are the first two letters from my last name and the last two letters from my buddies last name) do you (represents that no matter what people say you gotta do you, do what you want and how you wanna do it and dont let anyone tell you otherwise, so do you) and do it all (stands for go out there and experience the world, do everything that you can, try to get a bit of everything in this world into your life and love it)
