if you're updating an iTunes library to a new computer and trying to 'Consolidate Files' like I always do. I'm anal like that and like for everything to be organized in one single space and be all nice and neat.
Well a lot of times you get that message saying that it failed because a file name was too long or was invalid.
My situation is that I'm bring music from my personal Mac and onto my PC I use for work.
For me this was the deal breaker and I just deleted iTunes off my PC and went with windows media player even though I hate it so much.
Well this program will run a diagnostic on your iTunes library and tell you which files are the ones that it is having problems with. Well for me it was only two songs and I can always just download or find them somehow again so I just deleted them out of my iTunes library and proceeded to try again and it worked fine.
SO BOOM HERE YOU GO THIS IS THE PROGRAM THAT SHOULD BE INCLUDED WITH iTUNES FROM THE START.
